ToggleBuy Curtains Dubai — Custom-Made and Ready Curtains with Professional Installation
Updated June 2026
Curtains do more than block sunlight. The right curtains can transform a room — making ceilings appear higher, spaces feel larger, and interiors look polished and complete. The wrong ones can do the opposite. In Dubai, where sunlight is intense, AC bills are a real concern, and interiors range from minimalist modern to opulently traditional, choosing and installing curtains well matters.
Dubai Repairs has been supplying and installing curtains in Dubai homes and commercial spaces since 2016. We offer custom-made curtains in a wide range of fabrics, linings, and styles, as well as professional installation of curtain tracks, rods, and poles. Whether you’re furnishing a new apartment, upgrading an existing space, or replacing worn-out curtains across a villa, our team handles the complete job — from measuring to making to hanging.

Curtain Types We Supply and Install
Eyelet curtains (ring-top): The most popular style in modern Dubai apartments. Metal rings sewn directly into the top of the curtain panel thread onto a decorative pole. The result is a contemporary look with soft, even folds. Eyelet curtains work well in living rooms and master bedrooms where the curtain is primarily decorative as well as functional.
Pencil pleat curtains: A more traditional, formal heading style where the fabric is gathered into tight vertical pleats using a woven tape header. Pencil pleat curtains have a fuller, more elaborate look and are popular in formal living areas and dining rooms. They can be hung from rings, hooks on a track, or directly on a decorative pole.
Wave curtains: A contemporary heading style using a special track and carrier system that creates a continuous gentle wave effect across the fabric when closed. Wave curtains look particularly clean and architectural when used with floor-to-ceiling glazing, which is common in Dubai apartments and villas.
Blackout curtains: Lined or back-coated curtains that block light almost completely. Essential for bedrooms in Dubai where direct east or west light can be intense early morning or afternoon. Blackout curtains also provide a degree of thermal insulation, which helps with AC efficiency.
Sheer curtains: Lightweight translucent fabrics — voile, chiffon, linen gauze — that diffuse light without blocking it. Sheers are often layered with heavier curtains for flexible light control: sheers alone for daytime privacy with light diffusion, full curtains closed for evening privacy or darkness. Dubai’s strong sunlight makes sheers an effective daytime filter that softens the light without eliminating it.
Motorized curtains: Electric curtain tracks with a motor that opens and closes curtains via a wall switch, remote control, or smart home integration (Alexa, Google Home, etc.). Motorized curtains are increasingly requested in Dubai villas and high-end apartments, particularly for large windows and areas that are difficult to reach manually.

Curtain Fabric Guide for Dubai
Lightweight fabrics include cotton, linen, silk, muslin, challis, and voile. These fabrics are better suited to interior spaces where light control isn’t the primary purpose, or for layering with blackout linings. Cotton and linen are practical, wash well, and suit a range of interior styles. Silk has a luxurious drape and sheen but requires more careful maintenance.
Medium-weight fabrics include brocade, damask, and denim. Brocade and damask have an inherent richness and texture that makes them suited to more formal or traditional interiors. They hold pleated heading styles particularly well.
Heavyweight fabrics include chenille, velvet, and tapestry. These fabrics provide the best light blocking and thermal insulation of any curtain material, and they have a particularly substantial, luxurious appearance. Velvet in particular has become very popular in Dubai’s luxury villa market. Heavyweight curtains require strong fixings and properly sized tracks or poles.
All our custom curtains are available with interlined or blackout linings where required. Linings extend the life of curtain fabric by protecting it from UV degradation, improve light control, and add body to the drape.

The Measuring and Installation Process
Getting curtain measurements right is critical — curtains that are too short look cheap, and panels that are too narrow don’t have enough fullness to hang properly. We take detailed measurements at your property before any cutting or making begins.
For floor-length curtains, we measure from the track or pole position (not the window frame) to the floor. The standard drop is to the floor or just above it — what looks right depends on the style of curtain and the room. We advise based on what you’re going for aesthetically.
Width is determined by the fullness factor — eyelet curtains need 1.5–2x the track width; pencil pleat curtains need 2–2.5x. We calculate the fabric requirement based on the heading style you choose and make sure there’s adequate fabric for a full, properly hanging result.
After measurement, we provide a quote. Once approved, curtains are made within 7–14 days and installed in a single visit. We supply and fit all track, pole, and bracket hardware as part of the installation.
For other home interior services, our team also provides custom wall-to-wall bed making in Dubai, gypsum ceiling makeovers, and professional carpentry near JVT.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get custom curtains made in Dubai?
Our typical lead time for custom curtains is 7–14 working days from the point of measuring and confirming the order. For simple designs in readily available fabrics, turnaround can be at the lower end of this range. For more complex styles or specialty fabrics, allow 2–3 weeks. We’ll confirm the timeline for your specific order when you book.
Do you supply and install curtain tracks and poles as well as the curtains?
Yes. We supply and install all hardware as part of the curtain service — curtain tracks (manual and motorized), decorative poles in multiple finishes (brushed nickel, chrome, antique brass, matte black, white), and all brackets and fixings. If you’ve already bought your own pole or track, we can install that instead. Call 058 187 3003 to discuss your requirements.
What type of curtains work best in Dubai’s climate?
For west and east-facing windows that receive direct afternoon or morning sun, blackout or heavily lined curtains significantly reduce heat gain and protect furniture and flooring from UV fading. Sheer curtains work well on south-facing windows in Dubai where the light is bright but not as directly angled. For bedrooms, blackout lining is almost always the right choice — Dubai’s early mornings are very bright and the light will wake you up through unlined curtains.
Can you repair or alter existing curtains?
Yes. We can shorten curtains (if you’ve moved to a room with lower ceilings), take in the width, replace or repair heading tape, add lining, and carry out general repairs to torn or worn curtains. We can also re-hang curtains that have come off their hooks or tracks. Call us at 058 187 3003 to describe what needs doing and we’ll advise whether a repair visit or a full new curtain is the better approach for your situation.
Do you install motorized curtains and smart home integration?
Yes. We supply and install motorized curtain tracks that can be controlled via remote, wall switch, or integrated with smart home systems. Motorized tracks are particularly useful for large windows, for windows above sofas or beds where manual operation is inconvenient, and for curtains that guests or residents need to control remotely. We can coordinate with your smart home installer for integration into existing Alexa, Google Home, or proprietary control systems.
Can I see fabric samples before ordering?
Yes. We can bring fabric samples to your property as part of the consultation visit, so you can see how different fabrics look in your space with your lighting and existing décor. We strongly recommend doing this rather than choosing from a website or catalogue — fabric colors and textures look very different in real life compared to a screen. Call 058 187 3003 to arrange a consultation.
