Most wall beds need a minimum cabinet depth of 35 to 45 centimeters, plus the mattress thickness when folded. For a standard 20cm mattress, you need roughly 55 to 65cm of total wall depth. If your wall has skirting or decorative molding, we account for that in the design. During our measurement visit, we check the exact depth available and suggest a mattress thickness that fits without protruding into the room.

Can any wall support a wall-mounted bed? +

No — the wall must be structurally sound. We need either concrete blockwork or timber/steel studs spaced correctly to anchor the frame. Drywall or gypsum partition walls without internal studs cannot bear the load of a bed and mechanism. During our site survey, we use a stud finder or drill test points to confirm what is behind the plaster. If the wall is unsuitable, we can suggest alternative mounting methods or reinforce the wall before installation.

How long does installation take? +
