Mounting a TV on the wall improves any room — it clears floor space, reduces cable clutter, and creates a cleaner look. But a movable TV mount takes this a step further by letting you adjust the viewing angle, tilt the screen, or swing the TV outward so it can be seen from different parts of the room. Installing a movable mount correctly — securely drilled into the right anchor points, with the TV properly aligned — is a job that requires the right tools, knowledge of wall types, and experience with different bracket systems.
Dubai Repairs provides professional movable TV mounts installation service across Dubai. Our carpenters and handymen are experienced with all types of mounting brackets on concrete, brick, and plasterboard walls. Call 058 187 3003 to book your installation.

Types of TV Mounts We Install
Fixed TV mounts: The simplest type — the TV sits flat against the wall with no movement. Fixed mounts hold the TV close to the wall for a clean, minimal look. They work well in dedicated viewing rooms where the position of the sofa and TV are set. These are the easiest to install but don’t offer any adjustment after fitting.
Tilting TV mounts: These mounts allow the screen to tilt forward and back — typically up to 15 degrees downward. This is useful when the TV is mounted above eye level, such as above a fireplace or high on a wall, where viewing straight-on would strain the neck. The tilt is adjusted manually and locks into position.
Full-motion (articulating) mounts: The most flexible option. These mounts extend the TV away from the wall on a swing arm, allowing the screen to be moved left, right, tilted up or down, and rotated. A TV in the corner of a living room can be swung out and angled to face the sofa. A bedroom TV mounted to the side can be angled toward the bed. Full-motion mounts are the most complex to install correctly because the arm mechanism needs to be balanced for the specific TV weight, and the wall anchors need to carry that load at full extension.
We supply and install mounts, or we can install a bracket you have already purchased. Either way, we confirm the bracket is rated for your TV’s size and weight before we drill anything.
Why the Installation Needs to Be Done Correctly
A poorly installed TV mount is a real risk. Most Dubai apartments and villas have concrete walls, which are strong but require specialist masonry drill bits and concrete anchors — not just ordinary screws. Using the wrong fixings in concrete is a common DIY mistake that can result in the mount pulling out of the wall under the weight of the TV.
For plasterboard (drywall) walls in some areas of newer Dubai buildings, the anchoring method is different again. Plasterboard alone cannot carry a TV’s weight — the mount needs to be fixed into the wall studs behind the board, or through-wall fixings need to be used. Identifying stud positions and using the right anchor type for the specific wall construction is something our team does as standard.
The consequences of getting this wrong — a TV falling from the wall — mean injury risk and almost certain damage to an expensive appliance. Professional installation is genuinely the right choice here.

Our TV Mount Installation Process
When our technician arrives, the first step is confirming the correct wall location. We check for electrical cables and pipes behind the wall before drilling using a cable and pipe detector. We then identify the anchor points, use the appropriate drill bits and fixings for your specific wall type, and mount the bracket securely.
After the bracket is fixed, we attach the mounting plate to the back of the TV, lift the TV onto the mount, and make all cable connections. We then test the movement of the mount through its full range of motion — confirming the swing arm, tilt, and rotation all work correctly under the TV’s weight. For full-motion mounts, we adjust the arm tension so the TV holds position without drooping.
Cable management is included — we route cables neatly and, where possible, use in-wall cable runs or surface cable channels to keep the installation looking clean.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size TV can a movable mount support?
Full-motion mounts are rated by both screen size and weight. Most mounts we install support TVs from 32 inches up to 86 inches. The bracket’s weight rating must exceed your TV’s weight by a comfortable margin, particularly for full-motion mounts where the arm is extended at full reach. We confirm compatibility before installation — if the mount you have purchased isn’t rated for your TV, we’ll tell you before anything is drilled.
Can you install a TV mount on a concrete wall?
Yes, and this is the most common type of installation in Dubai. Concrete walls are very strong but require masonry drill bits and concrete anchor bolts — not standard screws. We carry the right equipment for concrete, brick, and plasterboard walls. Tell us your wall type when you book and we’ll bring the appropriate fixings.
Do I need to supply the mount, or can you provide one?
Both options work. If you’ve already purchased a mount, we’ll install it. If you’d prefer us to supply the mount, we carry a range of fixed, tilt, and full-motion brackets and will recommend the right type for your TV size, room layout, and viewing preferences. Supply and install pricing is available — call for a quote.
How long does TV mount installation take?
A straightforward fixed or tilt mount installation typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. Full-motion mounts with cable management take 60 to 90 minutes. If in-wall cable routing is needed, allow up to two hours. We’ll confirm the expected duration when you book.
Can you relocate an existing TV mount to a different position on the wall?
Yes. We remove the existing mount, fill and make good the old holes, and install the mount in the new position. The old holes are filled with the appropriate filler for your wall type and can be painted over. Let us know if you need the wall made good so we can bring the right materials.
Is it safe to mount a TV above a fireplace?
Functionally, a TV above a fireplace is a common installation. The main consideration is heat — if the fireplace produces significant heat, prolonged exposure can affect the TV’s electronics. We recommend a tilt mount in this position so the screen can be angled down for comfortable viewing. For electric fireplaces that produce little heat, this position works well. Let us know your setup and we’ll advise.
