Pick a spot that gets at least 6 hours of direct sun. Prepare a raised bed or dug plot with compost worked in. Start with straightforward crops — tomatoes, lettuce, courgettes, and beans are forgiving for beginners. Water regularly, feed during the growing season, and stay on top of weeds early.
