Clean the Filter Every 2–3 Weeks
Dubai's dust means portable AC filters block up faster than in most climates. A blocked filter makes the compressor work harder for less cooling output, and eventually causes the unit to cut out on a thermal protection switch. Most filters wash out under a tap and dry quickly.
Keep the Exhaust Hose Properly Routed
A kinked or poorly routed exhaust hose traps hot air inside the unit, which collapses cooling performance quickly. The hose should have a clear, short path to a window or vent with no tight bends. A long hose or a hose exposed to outdoor heat also reduces efficiency noticeably.
Drain the Water Tank Regularly
In Dubai's humidity, the internal water tank fills up faster than most users expect. Many units have an automatic cut-out that stops the unit when the tank is full — which gets confused for a fault.
