When Repair Makes Sense
If the frame is structurally intact and the fault is a specific component — a tyre, a battery, a brake cable, a joystick — repair is almost always the right call. A good manual wheelchair costs AED 500–3,000. A good power chair costs AED 5,000–25,000. Spending AED 100–400 on a repair to extend that life by several years makes straightforward financial sense.
We see people replace perfectly good chairs because of a single repairable fault. It's a waste of money, and it's something we're happy to prevent by giving you an honest assessment first.
When Replacement Is Smarter
If the frame has buckled severely, the motor has failed completely on an old chair where parts are no longer available, or the electronics have failed in a pattern that suggests deeper degradation — replacement may make more sense than continued repair investment.
